From our family to yours, a cooking class in one of Greve’s historical restaurants - an experience that is both instructive and fun.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Greve in Chianti, Enoteca Ristorante Gallo Nero invites you to join a cooking class that’s as fun as it is delicious!

Since 1984, our restaurant has been a beacon of Tuscan culinary tradition, lovingly run by our dedicated family, who pour our heritage into every dish. With decades of history behind its walls, Gallo Nero offers more than just a meal — it’s an experience steeped in the soul of Tuscany.

Step into the kitchen with Chef Davide Boidi, a culinary maestro celebrated for his creative spins on timeless Tuscan recipes. Under his expert guidance, you’ll uncover the secrets of authentic Italian cooking, from rolling out fresh pasta to crafting the perfect Tuscan stew.

But this isn’t just about technique — it’s about fun. Picture yourself laughing with new friends as you fumble through dough-kneading, or sipping a glass of Chianti Classico while swapping stories over a simmering pot. These classes are hands-on, interactive, and brimming with joy, set in the welcoming atmosphere of Gallo Nero’s professional kitchen.

What makes this experience truly special is the memories you’ll create. - it is the moments that linger — the shared laughter, the taste of a dish you made yourself, the feeling of being part of something timeless. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a curious beginner, this class is a chance to connect with Tuscany’s rich culture and take home stories that last far beyond your trip.

Where?

Our cooking courses take place in the working kitchen of our Enoteca Ristorante Gallo Nero, in the heart of the historical town of Greve in Chianti. The restaurant dates back to 1984, when Lucia and her husband bought the local “circolo”.
There is a large parking lot just across the road from us, so parking is easy!

When?

Our cooking classes are usually held on weekdays; they begin at 3.30p.m., and you will spend roughly 2h30 preparing a full Italian menu. Afterwards, you will of course sit down to enjoy all the dishes which you prepared, while sipping on the accompanying white and red wines that are served throughout the experience. You can expect to finish around 9 p.m. or as we say, “dopo cena”!

What you will make…

Our cooking classes will usually cover the following:
- Bread or focaccia bread, which can be in the Tuscan or Genova (Liguria) tradition;
- Fresh pasta or gnocchi;
- A main course, usually a stew that is in line with local tradition;
- A traditional Italian dessert;
As long as we are given sufficient advance notice, the contents of our cooking courses can be tailored to specific needs - make sure that you let us know if you have any intolerances, restrictions - or even dislikes!

How much?

Our cooking classes cost 150 Euros per person - this will include your welcome drink, the class (with wines and water served throughout), and your dinner with its accompanying wines!
